QANTAS First Class Lounge

QANTAS Cocktail Bar

Pipecraft Innovations has recently completed a prestigious project for TM Lighting – creating a new first-class bar and lounge area at Heathrow Airport’s Qantas Terminal 3. The facility at the London airport was announced by Qantas in February 2016 and involved crafting a number of innovative features.

The resulting bar and lounge, which opened at the end of 2017, means passengers can now enjoy luxurious surroundings and local cuisine. Split over two levels, the seating accommodates more than 200 customers, who can relax, dine or work before their flight – while enjoying spectacular views over the airfield.

The lounge was based on a concept used at the Qantas international lounges in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Brisbane and Singapore, and the interior design and cuisine were inspired by the local region’s flavours.

Designed by Woods Bagot, the interior of the Qantas Terminal 3 lounge includes furnishings in blue and deep green hues that are aimed at reflecting the ambience of London at twilight. The warm-coloured timber, brass and stone décor are designed to reflect the capital’s historic architecture.

On the higher level, the facilities include a stunning marble cocktail bar, lit by a majestic brass chandelier.

So that travellers can freshen up, there are also six shower suites featuring Aurora Spa facilities. Business passengers can benefit from facilities such as Wi-Fi, work spaces and workstations – making the lounge a mobile office!

Open seven days a week, from 8am until 8.30pm, the lounge can be accessed by Qantas first and business class passengers, Qantas Club members, Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald passengers and Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold customers.

With unrivalled expertise in tube manipulation and the production of tubular-based products, Pipecraft’s suite of services helped to create the luxurious ambience in the new bar and lounge areas. We produced the brass wall lights and downlights over the dining area, as well as the metalwork of the stunning chandelier and the brass frames used for the tables and chairs.

Pipecraft fulfils many metalwork projects for clients across various sectors. We work with materials including brass, mild and stainless steel, copper, titanium, aluminium and other exotic metals. Custom metalwork projects can be completed to individual specifications.
